Before Dirk Nowitzki became a legend for the Dallas Mavericks, he studied then-Orlando Magic center Shaquille O’Neal’s every move — even the ones he made in the recording studio.
On “The Big Podcast with Shaq,” Dirk Nowitzki said he was such a fan of O’Neal’s that he even listened to Diesel’s music.
“I was a big Orlando fan there when it was Shaq and Penny [Hardaway], and I might be actually the only guy that listened to Shaq rap,” Nowitzki said.
We were not expecting to see Dirk Nowitzki rap on The Big Podcast 🤣🎤

In 1993, O’Neal released “What’s Up Doc? (Can We Rock)” with the Fu-Schnickens as a lead single as part of their album “Nervous Breakdown.” K-Cut of the rap group Main Source produced the song.
After Nowitzki noted he was knowledgeable about “Shaq rap,” he proceeded to rap O’Neal’s entire verse from the track.
“You know my s— was nice,” O’Neal said about his music.
