Phillies promote Preston Mattingly to assistant GM function



PHILADELPHIA — Preston Mattingly, a son of former New York Yankees nice and MLB supervisor Don Mattingly, has been promoted to assistant basic supervisor for participant improvement by the Philadelphia Phillies.

Mattingly, whose promotion got here Monday, was employed by the Phillies in September 2021 to run the membership’s participant improvement system. He spent 5 seasons with the San Diego Padres as coordinator of main league advance scouting and recreation planning after working as supervisor of scouting for 3 years.
