Sources – NBA closes investigation into Thunder’s Josh Giddey

The NBA has closed its investigation into Josh Giddey, sources instructed ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Thursday, after police beforehand decided they’d not pursue fees following allegations that the Oklahoma Metropolis Thunder guard had an inappropriate relationship with an underage woman.

Newport Seaside (Calif.) police introduced in January that they’d been “unable to corroborate any prison exercise” by Giddey and wouldn’t pursue fees.

The NBA got here to an identical conclusion and closed its investigation, sources instructed Wojnarowski.

The allegations in opposition to Giddey surfaced on social media in late November. In a since-deleted put up, an nameless social media consumer stated a woman who’s seen with Giddey in movies and pictures was a highschool junior on the time. The social media account was deactivated since making the put up.

Newport Seaside police opened an investigation on Nov. 29, and NBA commissioner Adam Silver had stated in early December that the league’s investigation would “take a again seat” to the police’s course of.
