Dave McCarty, 2004 World Collection winner with Pink Sox, dies at 54



Dave McCarty, a primary baseman and outfielder on the 2004 Boston Pink Sox workforce that gained the World Collection, died Friday in Oakland, California. He was 54.

The Pink Sox introduced his demise and mentioned it was attributable to a “cardiac occasion.”

McCarty was among the many members of the 2004 workforce who gathered April 9 at Fenway Park to have a good time the twentieth anniversary of the World Collection and honor Tim Wakefield and his spouse, Stacy, each of whom died of most cancers up to now six months.

Kevin Youkilis, McCarty’s Pink Sox teammate, paid tribute to him on social media.

The Minnesota Twins chosen McCarty with the No. 3 draft decide in 1991 out of Stanford. He made his main league debut with the Twins in 1993 and went on to play for six extra groups over 11 seasons: the San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners, Kansas Metropolis Royals, Tampa Bay Rays, Oakland Athletics and Pink Sox.

In his profession, McCarty performed in 630 video games, compiling a .242 common with 36 residence runs and 175 RBIs.

He labored as an analyst for NESN from July 2005 by way of the 2008 season.
