The Baltimore Orioles positioned beginning pitcher Tyler Wells on the 15-day injured record on Tuesday with proper elbow irritation.
The suitable-hander was scheduled to start out Wednesday in opposition to the Minnesota Twins. Wells, 29, final pitched on Friday, and the IL transfer is retroactive to Saturday.
Wells is 0-2 with a 5.87 ERA, 3 walks and 13 strikeouts in 15⅓ innings over three video games this season.
In corresponding strikes, the Orioles chosen the contract of catcher David Banuelos from Triple-A Norfolk and designated infielder Livan Soto for project to make room for Banuelos on the 40-man roster.
